Lose Yourself in Uganda

Uganda = Unique

Uganda is a country of magnificent mountains, dense jungles, unique cultures and spectacular wildlife. And as it’s home to over half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, it’s no surprise to find it in the top three on most people’s travel ‘wish lists’.

Tracking mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is one of the most breath-taking activities of any African adventure and this is the place to do it.

Home to Africa’s highest mountain range and longest river, the scenery is just as memorable, making Uganda live up to its reputation as a small country that packs a large punch.

CONSERVATION

At RAW Africa Eco-Tours, we are serious about supporting local communities and their conservation efforts. By joining us on a Ugandan tour you will be helping conservation by:

A portion of all tour payments to RAW Africa Eco-Tours is passed on to the conservation organisations relevant to the places we visit and the people we meet. In Uganda we support the Mabungo Community Cultural group, Rhino Fund UgandaUgandan wildlife Education and Conservation CenterNgamba IslandJane Goodall Institute Uganda (through JGI Australia) and the Kasiisi Project.

Where possible we stay at locally owned accommodation and trek in community-managed forests. We encourage our guests to buy their gifts from local co-operatives or from conservation areas. These actions ensure that the majority of our tourism $$ remains local.

On every RAW Africa Eco-Tours journey we ask you to do one small thing that will make a difference to wildlife. In Uganda we ask you to recycle your mobile phone to reduce your impact on gorillas. Read more about the links between Mobile phones and gorillas at:
