Uncover the Magic of MadagascaR

Madagascar = Diverse

Made famous by its lively lemurs, baobab trees and distinctive culture, Madagascar provides visitors with a rich playground to explore. From grand waterfalls to sweeping canyons, the sheer diversity of the landscapes on offer means you’ll never be bored. You’re likely to go from desert to rainforest all in one day!

And it’s not just the landscapes that are diverse, the wildlife is pretty spectacular too with lemurs and fossa only found on Madagascar and numerous frog and chameleon species around every corner.

If you have a passion for unusual wildlife, rich culture and traditions and stunning landscapes then this is the country for you.

CONSERVATION

At RAW Africa Eco-Tours, we are serious about supporting local communities and their conservation efforts. By joining us on a tour in Madagascar you will be helping conservation by:

A portion of all tour payments to RAW Africa Eco-Tours is passed on to one of the conservation organisations relevant to the places we visit and the people we meet. In Madagascar we support Centre ValBio and Reef Doctor.

We hire a local guide from the guiding co-operative in each National Park and Reserve when we visit Madagascar. This creates employment and provides tourism experience. We choose activities where the payment stays in the nearby area and we encourage you to purchase your gifts at the local markets. These actions ensure that the majority of our tourism $$ remains local.

On every RAW Africa Eco-Tours journey we ask you to do one small thing that will make a difference to wildlife. In Madagascar one of the biggest threats to local lemurs is deforestation. When we visit the Avenue of the Baobabs in Morondava, we will arrange for you to plant a baobab to ensure the continuation of these magnificent trees. Learn more about the baobabs at:
