People often describe a trip to Africa as an ‘adventure of a lifetime’. More often than not, they’re talking about Kenya. With its iconic sunsets, rolling plains and vast array of spectacular wildlife, there’s a reason people make the journey to this incredible spot.
Home to the Masai Mara, you’ll see zebras and wildebeest migrating in their millions, black rhinos, the red elephants of Tsavo and the Amboseli elephants living under the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro.
A trip to Kenya is an adventure you’ll never forget.
At RAW Africa Eco-Tours, we are serious about supporting local communities and their conservation efforts. By joining us on a Kenyan safari you will be helping conservation by:
A portion of all tour payments to RAW Africa Eco-Tours is passed on to one of the conservation organisations relevant to the places we visit and the people we meet. In Kenya we support Il Ngwesi Conservancy Community Program, Tsavo Cheetah Project, Action for Cheetahs in Kenya, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Mpala Research Centre.
Where possible, we stay in community-owned lodges and guest houses in Kenya. This creates employment and provides tourism experience for local communities. We choose activities, and shop at markets, where the payment stays in the community. These actions ensure that the majority of our tourism $$ remains local.
On every RAW Africa Eco-Tours journey we ask you to do one small thing that will make a difference to wildlife. In Kenya we ask you to buy locally made, traditional beadwork. Enabling community women to earn an income from selling their beadwork takes the pressure off using natural resources for income.
