The beauty of djibouti

Djibouti = Fascinating

Few places in the world boast the varied landscapes and intriguing geological wonders of Djibouti. Sitting on the horn of Africa, it is home to one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world, the lowest point in Africa and one of the most inaccessible areas of earth. It’s not for the faint-hearted, but those who take the time to venture into Djibouti – one of the smallest nations in mainland Africa – are rewarded with stunning landscapes and grand canyons. Not to mention a coastline fringed with crystal clear water and beautiful coral gardens. We’ll help you find the beauty in this undiscovered pocket of the world as we explore the salt lakes of Lac Assal and Lac Abbe, the volcanic lava tubes and wasteland of Ardoukuba Volcano, and the beautiful underwater world of the Red Sea and Moucha Island.

Djibouti Tours

CONSERVATION

At RAW Africa Eco-Tours, we are serious about supporting local communities and their conservation efforts. By joining us on a Djibouti safari you will be helping conservation by:

A portion of all tour payments to RAW Africa Eco-Tours is passed on to the conservation organisations relevant to the places we visit and the people we meet. In Djibouti we support Djibouti Nature

djiboutinature.net

Where possible, we stay in community-owned lodges and guest houses throughout Djibouti. We choose activities that involve local communities or that support wildlife projects. These actions ensure that the majority of our tourism $$ remains local.

On every RAW Africa Eco-Tours journey we ask you to do one small thing that will make a difference to wildlife. In Djibouti, there are no rubbish disposal systems outside the cities. Plastic waste is a significant threat to both wildlife and communities. Instead of purchasing your water in plastic bottles, we ask you to bring a reusable bottle from home. We recommend Larq www.livelarq.com

Alternatively, you can purchase a bottle from one of our local partners such a Neem Farm.
