On arrival, we’ll meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and take you to your hotel. There’ll be plenty of time to relax and adjust to your new surroundings before we get together to chat about what we’ll be doing over the next week.

Our Kenyan adventure starts with a morning at the Sheldrick Elephant & Rhino Orphanage. This world-famous facility is responsible for the rescue and rehabilitation of orphan elephants from all over east Africa. As part of this unique journey, we will have the chance to visit the orphanage in Nairobi as well as the elephant release site in Tsavo National Park. We’ll also visit the Langatta Giraffe Center which is a breeding facility for the rare Rothschild giraffe and was established to educate young people about nature and wildlife in Kenya. After lunch we’ll visit the Karen Blixen Homestead and Museum. Karen Blixen is the author of the famous book Out of Africa and a visit to her former home is like a journey back in time. Finish your day with a stop at the Kazuri Beads Project and take home a piece of handmade jewellery that supports the community and provides a stable income for local women.

After breakfast we will head east to the greater Tsavo ecosystem and to Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary.
Lumo is a private conservation area that allows the local community to graze their animals alongside the wildlife of the park. Spend the afternoon on a game drive before camping underneath the stars

Today we will make our way to Kenya’s largest park and home to the few remaining ‘Great Tuskers’ left on the African continent. We’ll go in search of these amazing, yet rare elephants that few people ever get the opportunity to see in the wild.
In the afternoon we will visit the Sheldrick release site at Voi. This is one of the locations that the orphanage uses to release orphan elephants back into the wild. We’ll meet some of the orphans being held in the “soft release” area before they are introduced to the park’s resident elephants and gain an understanding of the challenges of integrating orphan elephants into existing herds. We will then make our way back to Lumo Conservancy for another night under the stars.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
- Accommodation: Comfortable Camping
After an early morning game drive, we will say farewell to Lumo and slowly wind our way south through Kenya to Amboseli National Park. We’ll be driving between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks and will get to see plenty of wildlife along the way. Sit back and take in the spectacular scenery passing us by, or use the time to read up on the park and make a list of the wildlife you hope to see!
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge
Today we spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park, located at the base of spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro. The elephants congregate in and around the central swamp and provide fantastic photo opportunities with Mount Kilimanjaro towering in the background.
As well as offering a jaw-dropping view of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain, this iconic park is famous for its large elephant herds, which have been closely studied for the past 30 years. In fact, most of the information we know about elephant ecology and behaviour today is as a result of the work undertaken at Amboseli. But it’s not all about the elephants – keep your eyes peeled for wildebeest, zebras, lions and hyenas too.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After a relaxing morning in camp we will make the journey back to Nairobi. We will drop you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or a central Nairobi location. Alternatively why not further explore Kenya on either our Kenya Soul or Masai Mara tours.
